Raaka Has Broken a World Record — And Here Is the Story of How It Happened
When Atlee sir walked into the room with a vision, most people would have said it was impossible.
37 characters. Captured simultaneously. In a single volume. In a single shot.
No one had ever done this in the history of motion capture production. But Atlee sir's vision does not recognise the word impossible. And when Sun Pictures got behind it — and when Allu Arjun sir's star presence gave it the soul it needed — the team around them had one job: make it real.
Under the technical supervision of Neel Madhu and the Apple Arts Studios, Hyderabad — with the creative direction of Demain Gordon on the capture floor, and the VFX commitment of Santhosh Raju — it was made real.
Raaka has broken a world record. 37 motion capture characters captured simultaneously in a single volume in a single shot. The first time this has ever been done in the history of motion capture production.
Indian cinema just showed the world what it is capable of.

The Vision: Atlee Sir and Atili Vision
A world record does not happen without a vision that demands it.
Atlee sir is a filmmaker who does not compromise on scale. His films — Mersal, Bigil, Jawan — have each pushed the boundaries of what Indian cinema can deliver technically and emotionally. Raaka is no different. From the earliest conversations, the brief was clear: this film would require motion capture at a scale that had never been attempted in India — or anywhere in the world.
It is Atlee sir's creative ambition, his refusal to limit himself to what has been done before, and his trust in the technical team around him that made this world record possible.
Thank you, Atlee sir. This record carries your vision in every frame.

Allu Arjun Sir — The Star Presence That Made This Real
A motion capture production at this scale requires performers who can bring full commitment to a technically demanding environment. Every suit, every marker, every moment on the capture floor has to carry performance.
Allu Arjun sir's presence in this production — his dedication, his energy, his commitment to making every moment count — is what gives the data meaning. A world record in motion capture is ultimately a record of human performance. And when that performance carries the spirit of Allu Arjun sir, the result is something extraordinary.
We are honoured and proud to have worked on a production that carries his name.

Sun Pictures — The Producer Who Said Yes to the Impossible
No world record happens without a producer willing to back the vision fully. Sun Pictures is one of Indian cinema's most celebrated production houses — and Raaka is proof of why.
The scale of this production, the infrastructure it required, the technical team it assembled and the ambition it pursued are a direct result of Sun Pictures' commitment. When Atlee sir brought this vision to the table, Sun Pictures did not flinch. They backed it completely.
It is because of Sun Pictures that the world record belongs to Indian cinema. Thank you for this opportunity. We are grateful, proud and honoured to have been a part of this.

Santhosh Raju — VFX Producer Whose Vision Made This Technically Possible
Behind every great visual achievement in Indian cinema is a VFX producer who translates creative ambition into technical reality.
Santhosh Raju's commitment as VFX Producer on Raaka — his understanding of what motion capture at this scale could deliver, his belief in the concept, and his coordination of the VFX pipeline around the motion capture output — was a critical reason this world record was possible.
Without Santhosh Raju's vision and commitment on the VFX side, the idea of capturing 37 characters simultaneously would have remained exactly that — an idea. He helped make it a plan. And then a world record.

Neel Madhu — The Visionary Leader Who Made This World Record Possible
Every world record needs a visionary leader. For this one, that person is Neel Madhu.
Neel Madhu is the founder and studio head of Apple Arts Studios, Hyderabad — and the Motion Capture Supervisor who designed, built and delivered the technical foundation that turned Atlee sir's impossible brief into a verified world record.
Neel Madhu is not just a technical expert. He is a visionary who has spent 15 years building something that no one else in India built — a motion capture company and ecosystem capable of operating at international production scale. Every camera in the system, every workflow, every calibration method, every post-processing pipeline — built under his leadership. Refined on thousands of shoot days. Ready, when the moment came, to do something the world had never seen.
When the brief came in for Raaka — 37 characters, simultaneously, one volume, one shot — most people would have said it could not be done. Neel Madhu's answer was to figure out how to do it. And he did.
The volume design. The camera configuration. The calibration framework. The real-time data pipeline. The aerial wire rig integration into the optical system. The facial capture running simultaneously with body capture. The marker management for 37 performers. Every technical decision that made this record possible was made under his supervision — guided by his 15 years of expertise and his vision of what Indian motion capture can become.
Under Neel Madhu's leadership, the Apple Arts Studios team did not just support this production. They made it possible.
This world record belongs to Atlee sir's vision and Allu Arjun sir's star presence. But the technical heart of it — the reason it happened — is Neel Madhu.

Demain Gordon — Mocap Session Directors
Motion capture production is not just about the technology. It is about the performance that the technology captures.
Demain Gordon served as the Motion Capture Session Directors on Raaka — working directly on the capture floor, directing the 37 performers in each shot, coaching physical performance, managing scene energy and ensuring that every frame of captured data carried the quality that Atlee sir's vision required.
In a production of this scale, the bridge between the director's creative vision and the technical capture system is the mocap session director. Demain Gordon built that bridge on every shoot day — and their work is in every frame of this world record.

The Record: 37 Characters. One Volume. One Shot. A World First.
What Made This a World Record
In professional motion capture production worldwide, capturing 6 to 10 performers simultaneously in a single volume is considered a complex, high-end production. 37 — simultaneously — in one volume — in one shot — is in a different category entirely.
37 optical marker suits tracked simultaneously with zero cross-contamination between performers
Aerial wire rig performers captured mid-air alongside ground performers in the same volume, same shot
Facial capture running simultaneously with full-body optical capture across the production
Over 1,961 individual marker positions tracked, solved and streamed in real time, every frame
Complex action choreography, acrobatic stunts and fight sequences executed in full mocap suits at production scale
Complete post-processing, solving and production-ready data delivery for every shot

The Wire Rig Challenge — Aerial and Ground in the Same Shot
One of the most technically demanding achievements of this production was the simultaneous capture of aerial wire rig performers alongside ground-level performers — in the same optical volume, in the same shot.
Performers were flying in the air while other performers executed action sequences on the ground below. All 37 tracked simultaneously, cleanly separated in the data. This has never been done at this scale.

Acrobatics, Stunts and Action — All in Motion Capture
Raaka's sequences required physical performance at an extreme level — acrobatics, combat, high-energy ensemble movement. All of it captured in real time through the optical system under Neel Madhu's technical supervision.

The Apple Arts Studios Team — The People Who Did the Impossible
A world record is not achieved by one person. It is achieved by a team.
The Apple Arts Studios team — 27 specialists in motion capture, post-processing, technical operations and production management — showed up every day for this production and delivered at a level that had never been done before anywhere in the world.
Suit teams who fitted and managed 37 performers per shot. Calibration engineers who maintained the optical system at perfect precision throughout. Data operators who monitored 37 simultaneous streams in real time. Post-processing specialists who solved, cleaned and delivered the data to production standard. Production coordinators who managed the logistics of an operation this large.
Every one of them brought their best. Every one of them is part of this world record.
Under the visionary leadership of Neel Madhu — who built this company, built this team, built this capability over 15 years — the Apple Arts Studios team proved that India's motion capture is world class. Not just in words. In a verified, never-done-before world record.
This record is theirs.
