37 Performers. 92 Cameras. One Guinness World Record — The Apple Arts Studios Story

A Guinness World Record in motion capture is not created by cameras alone. It takes a creative vision, a production willing to support that vision, and a technical team capable of turning an ambitious brief into a working capture system.

For RAAKA, that challenge came together around Atlee's vision, Allu Arjun's performance, Sun Pictures' production backing and the wider creative and VFX team. At Apple Arts Studios, our responsibility was to execute the motion capture side at a scale that demanded a completely different level of planning, infrastructure and technical supervision.

37 Performers. One Real-Time Motion Capture Volume.

The Guinness World Record recognizes 37 people captured simultaneously in real time for RAAKA. The achievement was officially certified on 15 September 2026 in Mumbai.

For the motion capture team, the challenge was straightforward to describe and extremely difficult to execute: keep all 37 performers individually trackable, preserve the integrity of their movements and maintain a stable real-time capture pipeline while everyone was moving together inside one volume.

Apple Arts Studios: Executing the Motion Capture at Scale

Apple Arts Studios built and operated the motion capture infrastructure required for this record attempt. Our team worked around a 92-camera optical motion capture setup, together with calibration, synchronization, networking, real-time monitoring, facial capture, reference cameras and Unreal Engine visualization.

The important point is that the cameras were only one part of the solution. The real work was making the complete motion capture ecosystem operate as one production system.

Atlee's Vision Set the Challenge

A record of this scale starts with a creative idea that demands more from the technology. Atlee's vision for RAAKA established the scale of the challenge: capture a large group of performers together, preserve the individual performances and make the result usable within a production pipeline.

Our job at Apple Arts Studios was not to change that vision. It was to build the technical environment capable of delivering it. That meant planning the capture volume, camera coverage, performer workflow, calibration, synchronization, live monitoring and data pipeline around the creative requirement.

Allu Arjun's Performance Gave the Capture Its Purpose

Motion capture is ultimately about human performance. The technology records movement, but the performance gives that movement meaning. Allu Arjun's presence and the commitment of the performers on the capture floor were an important part of translating the creative ambition into captured performance data.

For our team, that meant creating a capture environment where performers could work at the required scale while the technical system continued to track and preserve their individual performances.

Sun Pictures Backed the Scale Required

A production at this scale requires the producer to support the infrastructure, preparation and specialist teams needed to make the idea practical. Sun Pictures backed the production at the scale required, giving the technical and creative teams the opportunity to build and execute the capture properly.

For Apple Arts Studios, that trust meant taking responsibility for the motion capture execution and delivering a system that could perform when the record attempt mattered.

92 Cameras — But the Real Challenge Was the Workflow

A large camera count does not automatically create a successful motion capture production. With 37 performers moving simultaneously, the technical workflow had to account for coverage, occlusion, calibration, synchronization, marker management, real-time monitoring and reliable data handling.

  • 92-camera optical motion capture coverage

  • 37 performers tracked simultaneously in real time

  • Calibration and synchronization across the capture system

  • Facial capture and reference-camera workflows

  • Real-time visualization and Unreal Engine integration

  • Motion capture data monitoring, processing and production delivery

The Wire-Rig Challenge: Aerial and Ground Performers Together

One of the most demanding parts of the production involved performers working on aerial wire rigs while other performers were active on the ground. Capturing those movements together required careful camera coverage and technical coordination so that aerial and ground performances could remain part of the same real-time capture environment.

The Apple Arts Studios Team Behind the Capture

The record was not delivered by one person. It was delivered by a coordinated Apple Arts Studios team working across motion capture supervision, technical operations, performer preparation, calibration, data monitoring, post-processing and production management.

I am proud of the team that stood behind this production. Every calibration check, every performer setup, every technical decision and every monitored capture stream contributed to the final result.

A World Record Built on Collaboration

The official Guinness World Records listing recognizes 37 people as the most people motion-captured in real time, achieved for RAAKA in Mumbai on 15 September 2026. The record is the result of a collaborative production effort.

Atlee brought the creative vision. Allu Arjun and the performers brought the performance. Sun Pictures backed the production. The wider VFX and technical teams helped shape the production pipeline. At Apple Arts Studios, we took on the motion capture execution and built the infrastructure and workflow required to make that vision work at scale.

We are proud to have played that technical role and even prouder of the team that delivered it.

From Motion Capture to the Next Generation of Human Motion Data

This achievement is also a reminder of why we continue to invest in motion capture infrastructure and technical expertise. The same discipline required for large-scale film performance capture is increasingly relevant to human motion datasets, AI training, humanoid robotics, Physical AI, simulation and embodied systems.

At Apple Arts Studios, our work continues across motion capture, performance capture, body and facial tracking, mocap post-processing, cleanup, retargeting and production-ready human motion data.

A Proud Moment for Apple Arts Studios

I want to acknowledge the vision that set this challenge in motion, the production support that allowed it to happen, the performers who gave the capture its purpose, and every specialist who contributed to the final result.

For Apple Arts Studios, this Guinness World Record is a milestone in what our team can execute when motion capture is pushed to an extraordinary scale.

37 performers. 92 cameras. One real-time capture environment. One Guinness World Record.

Proud of what we built. Proud of the Apple Arts Studios team. Proud to have helped turn a world-scale creative vision into a real motion capture achievement.
